MEET THE ARTIST: Melanie Peterson

1. What inspires you about Bremerton?

The thing that inspires me about Bremerton is all the natural beauty around us. Bremerton is located in the perfect spot where you can find gorgeous forests, beautiful beaches, and so much more. Although a lot of people say Bremerton is a small town there is so much to explore around here which I love.

2. What drew you to your medium?

I first found my passion for ink drawing when my high school art teacher introduced me to pointillism. I had never imagined drawing using only dots and a lot of people find it hard but for me, it's like meditation. I love using ink because you can get such great textures out of it no matter what. I've also never been fond of using color in my art pieces either so black ink pens were basically made for me haha.
